About Latoya Moore

Officer Latoya Moore grew up in the Carol City area of Miami Dade County. At a very young age, Officer
Moore learned how to express herself by writing spoken word poetry. She grew up in a single parent
home where she was taught the importance of hard work and determination. Officer Moore graduated
from American Senior High and attended a few years at Broward Community College.

In 2009, Officer Moore accepted a position with The Florida Department of Corrections as a
Correctional Officer. During her time as a Correctional Officer she was an active member of The Rapid
Response Team, she was a Field Training Officer, and she was an academic instructor at The Correctional
Academy. In 2011 Officer Moore was promoted to Correctional Sergeant where she held that position
until 2014. In 2014, Officer Moore accepted a position with The Department of Homeland Security as a Custom Border Protection Officer (C.B.P.O). During her tenure with C.B.P Officer Moore has been certified as a Field Training Officer, she is part of the recruitment team and she is currently an advisor for the C.B.P
Explorer Program. Being an advisor for the C.B.P Explorer program has allowed Officer Moore to have a
positive impact on the lives of many children throughout the community. Officer Moore has received recognition letters and multiple Superior Awards for her outstanding work ethics. However, the award that she is most proud of was received on May 01, 2017 for her quick response to an active shooter which occurred at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport in January 2017. Officer Moore hopes to continue to serve the community through diligence and integrity. Her goals are to continue to represent the agency in a favorable light and to continue to have a positive impact her community.
